Welcome to the Seven Mountains! On the following pages, you can visit the seven most famous hills which gave the Seven Mountains Nature Park its name: the Drachenfels with the medieval castle ruin, the Wolkenburg, the Petersberg with the hotel, the Nonnenstromberg, the highest mountain of all, the Ölberg, the Lohrberg and the Löwenburg with another medieval castle ruin. The animation above may get you in the mood, just move your mouse over the icons.
Although we speak of the "Seven Mountains", in reality there are around 40 hills, and there are more beautiful sites to see, for instance the monastery of Heisterbach, the Nightingale Valley (Nachtigallental in German) and the Rosenau mountain with yet another medieval castle ruin.
In addition to the broad hiking trails through the Seven Mountains, we also find narrow paths and places where you can forget everyday life - almost enchanted places in the forest, where you still feel the magic of dwarves and dragons.
The navigation above takes you all around. The film "All7" takes you to the "classic" Seven Mountains. Then there are a picture gallery and special theme tours, for the moment
"Autumn" in the Seven Mountains,
"Medieval Castles" and
"Away in Dragon Land".
